Jet Lag: Feeling Tired After That Flight?

Jet lag is a condition that many people who travel often are very familiar with. Especially those people who travel overseas. Jet lag is the feeling of exhaustion which comes from traveling over time zones in a plane. This is true for businesspeople whose job requirement it is to fly all over the world. It is also true for the simple traveler who is merely flying from one state to another on a vacation. Because the plane is traveling so fast, you often feel tired when getting off the plane. This is called jet lag.

Exhaustion After A Long Flight

Jet lag leaves you feeling tired and exhausted and there’s really nothing you can do about it but ride it out. Of course, one way you can try and beat the feelings of jet lag is to get a cup of coffee at the airport as soon as you arrive at your destination. There are also energy pills available at some vitamin shops that some people take to alleviate the feelings of jet lag. Whatever you choose, in order to get that little pick me up that’s required to make you feel like normal again, you should choose something that doesn’t increase your heart rate too fast but just provides the pick me up you need. Otherwise, you could be jeopardizing your health.

Often times, with people who are used to jet lag, the first thing they will do when they arrive at their destination is to provide for a place to take a short, energizing nap. If you arrive at your destination and you will be staying in a hotel, lay down and close your eyes. Sometimes, fifteen or twenty minutes is all you need to provide the energy you need to get whatever you have to get done in your new city or country. If you don’t have time for a nap, you can try one of the pick me up remedies above or you could simply just try and fight the fatigue.

Jet lag is just something that happens after a long jet flight. You can get used to it after a while, especially if you travel very often. However, there are things you can do but nothing is going to take care of jet lag completely. Unfortunately, feeling tired and exhausted is just one of the drawbacks of taking a long flight. However, nothing beats the speed and convenience of air flight so, when weighing the costs, jet lag isn’t that bad of a drawback to have.
